A lot has changed since I launched The Amateur Gastronomer in 2008. Back then I was working as a news producer at CBS in Miami and blogging about my gastronomic adventures, starting with a memorable trip to Istanbul.
Since 2008 and shifting entirely into wine, food and travel writing, I was certified as a sommelier through the United States Sommelier Association. I was certified as a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) though the Society of Wine Educators. I moved to Atlanta and began writing for local magazines. My articles and photographs have appeared beyond that, in regional, national and international print publications and websites. One of my photographs is even in the Smithsonian. And I’m proud to say that AmateurGastronomer.com has been read by people in all 50 states and in more than 75 countries around the world.
As a professional wine writer I work with wineries, wine boards, alliances and regions to discover and promote their wines, and participate in media trips and sample wines before their release.
So as my journey has changed, it’s time to make a name change.
Welcome to WineTravelMore.com.
Here you can find wine news and reviews, unique destinations, info on the Atlanta food and event scene and beyond, plus the original articles from AmateurGastronomer.com.
What hasn’t changed is my passion for wine, and my goal of making wine fun and approachable for all experience levels. I’ve tasted some excellent new wines (including some from Brazil) and I can’t wait to share them with you here.
I don’t use a numerical rating system. Instead I try to describe the wine with as much detail as possible, so that you may assess whether it matches your taste.
I happily accept samples of wine, spirits and travel gear as well as wine related or destination based travel offers. Please contact me at email@example.com for more details.
While I cannot guarantee placement in an article in one of the magazines I write for, I will try to include it in a piece for WineTravelMore.com.
