A tip of the hat to The Southern Gentleman, the new restaurant offering traditional favorites with a modern twist in the Buckhead Atlanta development.
The southern influenced gastropub is the place to go for a post work drink or dinner with friends. You’ll find a chef-driven menu with locally sourced ingredients in a laid back yet sophisticated setting.
Bourbon fans – and those hoping to discover what makes bourbon so good – will love the cocktail menu. Try the East of Hudson, The Southern Gentleman’s take on a Manhattan, or that week’s Barrel Aged Cocktail. If you want your whiskey without all the fuss, there’s a list of more than 80 kinds of bourbon, rye and Scotch. There’s also a selection of draft and bottled beer, and wine by the glass and bottle.
While enjoying drinks, snack on the Mini Shrimp ‘Andouille’ Corndogs served with a New Orleans remoulade, and the Hoppin’ John Boudin Balls served with warm pepper jelly.

Next try the Pickled Gulf Shrimp, served on pumpernickel toast with shrimp butter, herbs, sprouts and flowers. Or The Southern Gentleman’s Chicken and Waffles, chicken liver mousse and brown butter herb waffles.

Southern cuisine may not be the most visually appealing to look at, but the main courses at The Southern Gentleman sure are delicious. A standout is the Cochon. Roasted heritage pork shoulder, belly and skin are served with balsamic braised greens.

The duck fat dumplings make the Duck & Dumplings another favorite. The duck confit is accompanied by root vegetables.

Don’t miss the TSG Daily Grind Burger. Made entirely of pork, the burger is topped with bacon-mustard green-bourbon jam and served on an H&F bun.
The Carrot Carolina Gold Risotto is so rich and flavorful that even non-vegetarians will want to give it a taste.
Be sure to save room for dessert, so you can enjoy the excellent Bourbon Bread Pudding.

The snacks, small plates, entrees and desserts get added charm from the vintage plateware.
The Southern Gentleman is the latest restaurant from the Southern Proper Hospitality Group, owners and operators of Gypsy Kitchen, Smokebelly BBQ, The Big Ketch and Milton’s Cuisine.
The Southern Gentleman opens nightly at 5pm. Starting April 6th, lunch will be offered from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
