The Glenwood Park restaurant from Chef Kevin Gillespie launched the dinner series as a celebration of its first anniversary. For two days the “Hired Guns” from award-winning restaurants will bring their signature flavors and personalities to Gunshow’s open kitchen. Their dishes will be served alongside the restaurant’s featured items during regular dinner hours. The chefs will also sign cookbooks and share their stories with restaurant guests.
Chef John Currence won the James Beard award for Best Chef in the South in 2009. Since its launch in 1992, his City Grocery Restaurant Group has become the fine dining culinary epicenter of Oxford, with City Grocery, Lamar Lounge, Big Bad Breakfast, Snackbar and Bour restaurants.
Chef Currence will take over the kitchen at Gunshow on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16. His menu will include:
German sweet potato salad
Szechuan catfish, stir fried rice and summer vegetables
