The countdown has begun to the wine event of November — the release of Beaujolais Nouveau!
Beaujolais Nouveau comes from the Burgundy region of France and is made entirely of Gamay grapes. The red wine is released just after midnight on the third Thursday of November in accordance with French law – that’s November 15, 2012.
For 30 years Georges Duboeuf has celebrated the release of its Beaujolais Nouveau in the United States with festive release parties, unique themes and creative label art. This year’s theme is “Thirty Years of Magic,” showcasing the magical world of winemaking.
Telling the Nouveau Magic story will be techno-illusionist Marco Tempest. Marco is a virtual magician known for his imaginative combination of computer-generated imagery, quick-cut video and enthusiastic stage presence.
Marco will magically transform the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau bottle labels into virtual reality — wine fans will be able to use their smartphones to view the Nouveau Magic augmented reality label.
The 2012 vintage of Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau is vibrant, fruit-forward and best served chilled. A light-bodied red that pairs well with turkey and a wide variety of dishes, Beaujolais Nouveau is a perfect wine for the holiday season.
The 2012 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau will be available on November 15th for the suggested retail price of $9.99.
